Privacy Policy for ClipZ - AI Tools and Clipboard
Last Updated: September 23, 2025
Introduction
Welcome to ClipZ - AI Tools and Clipboard, your AI-powered text and note management application. Your privacy is very important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use the app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in our data practices.
ClipZ - AI Tools and Clipboard is designed to operate primarily on your device, with very limited data collection. Please read this policy carefully. By using the application, you agree to the practices described herein.
1. Information We Collect
a. Collection of Limited Personal Data for Abuse Prevention
We may collect certain personal information about you, such as device identifiers, IP address, or other information necessary to prevent abuse and ensure fair use of the app. The app does not require personal accounts (except for optional Google sign-in for AI features, as detailed below). Collected personal data is used only for abuse prevention and security purposes.
b. Aggregated Usage Data
We may collect aggregated and anonymous data about how users interact with the app collectively. This includes general usage patterns, such as feature interaction or app performance metrics. This data does not identify individual users and is used solely to improve the app's functionality, user experience, and overall performance. It is never shared with third parties.
c. Local Data Storage
All notes, temporary texts, and clipboard items you save in the app are stored locally on your device. We do not access, upload, or share this data with our servers or any third parties. You are responsible for backing up your data, as it may be lost if the app is uninstalled or the device is reset.
d. Accessibility Services
The app uses Android's Accessibility Services to enable features like on-screen text extraction, automatic clipboard saving, and quick access actions. This is a sensitive permission, but we process all related data locally on your device. No data accessed via Accessibility Services is collected, stored, or transferred to us or third parties. This data is used exclusively for core app functions, such as extracting text while scrolling or filling text fields.
e. AI Features
When using advanced AI features (such as text translation, summarization, or rephrasing), we may generate a unique identifier. This identifier is solely used to prevent abuse, such as excessive usage that could impact service availability.
If you sign in with Google to use AI features, your Google account information is handled according to Google's privacy policies (see External Services below). We do not store your Google credentials.
2. How We Use Your Information
- App Improvement: Aggregated data is used to understand trends and improve app features.
- Abuse Prevention: Device identifiers and other limited personal data are used to prevent abuse, ensure fair use of features, and protect the app's services.
We do not use your data for marketing, ad personalization (other than in-app ads), or any other purposes.
3. Information Sharing
We do not share, sell, or disclose any user data—personal or otherwise—with third parties, except as required by law or to comply with legal processes. Aggregated data remains internal and is never shared.
4. External Services
ClipZ - AI Tools and Clipboard integrates third-party libraries and services to enhance functionality, such as analytics, crash reporting, authentication, advertising, and in-app purchases. These services are provided by Google and may collect data independently. We carefully select these services and work to minimize data collection. Below is information about the key external services we use, based on their publicly available privacy policies:
a. Firebase (from Google)
We use various Firebase components, including Firestore (for the database), Messaging (for notifications), Auth (for Google sign-in), Database, Crashlytics (for crash reporting), and Analytics (for app performance insights).
Data Handling: Firebase may collect device information (such as app instance ID, IP address, device model), crash data (such as crash traces, anonymous identifiers like Crashlytics UUID), and usage events. This data is used anonymously for analytics, crash reporting, and service improvement. Retention periods vary: crash data is retained for up to 90 days by default. Google restricts employee access to data and processes it in secure locations (e.g., US, EU). No personal data is shared with us; it is handled by Google.
Privacy Policy: For details, refer to Firebase Privacy and Security. Google Analytics for Firebase collects app usage data to improve the app but does not track individuals. You can learn more at Google Analytics Privacy Controls.
Why we use it: To provide reliable backend services, fix bugs, and offer optional notifications.
b. AdMob (from Google)
We use AdMob to display in-app advertisements to support the free version of ClipZ - AI Tools and Clipboard.
Data Handling: AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, approximate location (derived from IP), app interactions, and device information to deliver personalized ads. This helps fund the app but is not linked to your personal identity in our system. Google may use this data across its services for ad targeting.
Privacy Policy: Refer to Google AdMob Policies and Google's Privacy Policy. Users can opt out of personalized ads via their device settings.
Why we use it: To offer a free app experience while covering development costs.
c. Google Play Billing (from Google)
For in-app purchases and subscriptions (like ClipZ Plus+).
Data Handling: Handles payment information, transaction details, and purchase history. This may include billing address, payment method, and device information. Data is encrypted and processed securely by Google Payments.
Privacy Policy: Refer to the Google Payments Privacy Notice. Transactions are subject to Google's terms and are not stored by us.
Why we use it: To enable premium features like ad removal and unlimited AI usage.
d. Other Libraries
- Google Play Services Auth and Credentials: For secure sign-in with Google. Data is handled according to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Crashlytics (part of Firebase): Collects anonymous crash reports to fix bugs. See Firebase details above.
We do not control the data practices of third parties but encourage you to review their policies. If a service collects data, it is anonymized as much as possible, and we do not receive personal insights.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable security measures to protect local data on your device, such as encryption for sensitive features (like password-protected sections). However, no system is completely secure. You can enhance security by using device-level protections like a fingerprint.
For AI features that require server interaction, data is transmitted securely via HTTPS.
6. Children's Privacy
The ClipZ - AI Tools and Clipboard app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will delete it immediately.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Opt-out: Disable Accessibility Services or AI features in the app settings to limit processing.
- Data Access/Deletion: Since data is local, you control it via the app (e.g., deleting notes). For third-party data, contact the providers (e.g., Google).
- Opt-out of Google Analytics: Follow Google's instructions to disable analytics in your device settings.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect app changes or legal requirements. We will notify you via an in-app notice or email (if provided). Your continued use after changes means you accept them.
